Multiply each assignment's grade by its weight, sum all those products, then divide by the total weight. For example: (90Γ40 + 80Γ60) / (40+60) = 84%. Our calculator does this in real time.
What grade do I need on my final exam? βΌ
Use the Final Exam tab. Enter your current grade, your target final grade, and the exam weight. The formula is: Required = (Target β CurrentΓ(1βWeight/100)) / (Weight/100).
How is GPA calculated? βΌ
GPA = Ξ£(Grade Points Γ Credit Hours) / Ξ£(Credit Hours). For example, an A (4.0) in a 3-credit course plus a B (3.0) in a 3-credit course gives GPA = (4.0Γ3 + 3.0Γ3) / 6 = 3.5.
Do weights have to add up to 100%? βΌ
No. Our calculator normalises weights automatically. You can use any numbers β points, percentages, or relative values β and it will compute the correct weighted average.
What is a passing grade? βΌ
In most US colleges and universities, a D (60%+) is the minimum passing grade for credit, but many programs require a C (73%+) or higher for major courses. Always check your institution's requirements.
